Punjab is a northwestern state of India known as the -Land of Five Rivers,- referring to the Sutlej, Beas, Ravi, Chenab, and Jhelum, which make its soil highly fertile and ideal for agriculture, earning it the title -Granary of India.- It shares borders with Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Pakistan, and its capital is Chandigarh. Punjab is the birthplace of Sikhism and is home to the sacred Golden Temple in Amritsar. The state is famous for its vibrant culture, energetic dances like Bhangra, delicious cuisine such as Butter Chicken and Lassi, and major festivals like Baisakhi, reflecting its rich traditions and lively lifestyle.
